GIS Engineer at Stockholm Exergi

Stockholm Exergi is the energy company for the people of Stockholm, and we have about 800 employees working every day to reduce the climate impact of Stockholmers. We heat over 800,000 residents, and our 300 km long district heating network is the hub for the community benefits we create. We plan to build a carbon capture facility at our biomass power plant in Värtan, with the potential to capture 800,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year, which is more than the emissions from Stockholm's road traffic during the same period.

As a GIS Engineer with us in Distribution, you will work on developing and managing facility information in Digpro NIS/DP Com, with a particular focus on supporting maintenance engineers and investment planning. You will be responsible for ensuring that information about technical lifespan, status, and maintenance needs is accurate and accessible, contributing to creating decision-making material for budget and long-term management. The role involves close collaboration with maintenance, project management, and other technical areas. In this role, you need to understand how facility information is best structured to create value for maintenance and investments. You will also have the opportunity to develop both technically and in processes, and influence how we work with facility data for the future.

The role is a permanent position and involves daytime work based in our office environment at Hammarbyverket. This position is classified for security, so you need to be a Swedish citizen and will undergo a security clearance before employment.

Requirements

  • Swedish citizen
  • Bachelor's degree from a university with a focus on GIS, urban planning, or equivalent
  • Experience working with geographic information systems (GIS)
  • Experience in the energy sector, district heating, or infrastructure (Required)
  • Experience creating reports and decision-making materials for budget and maintenance (Required)
  • Good knowledge of GIS and database management (Required)
  • Good ability to communicate and collaborate across disciplines (Required)
  • Good communication skills and can express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish and English (Required)
